A recently completed project in the Chancellor Park area of Chelmsford, illustrating KT Garden Spaces abilities in transforming outdoor spaces.
Prior to our involvement the actual usable garden entertaining space in this property was limited and largely taken up by a tired Japanese themed decking & water feature built by previous owners. Since acquiring, the current owners have enhanced the property by adding a beautiful, vaulted side extension with stunning bi-fold doors leading out onto the decking and garden beyond.
As part of a thorough onsite consultation process the owners were very much inspired by our suggestion to take advantage of this whole area, re-purposing it into a functional outside living space, at the same time creating a delightful floral backdrop from inside and an oasis of calm with the background sound of running water and fragrant star jasmine filling the space. This remarkable transformation was cleverly achieved with an OASE water blade concealed within new raised bedding areas constructed from Millboard and using an Ellumiere led garden lighting system to continue bringing the space to life after dusk. Upon stepping outside, you are greeted with a contrasting combination of Millboard Golden Oak Enhanced Boards, mirroring the internal oak planking, and Globalstone Station Pearl porcelain tiles creating a perfectly enclosed dining patio and entertaining space. It’s now easy to imagine taking advantage of breakfast in the morning sun, partial shade in the heat of summer afternoons and al fresco dining with family and friends in the evenings – a truly versatile space!
Stepping beyond the patio a curved porcelain steppingstone path, bordered with smooth sandstone setts and bullnose edging, invites you to another Millboard deck area, which is complemented with contemporary screening to create a perfect spot for lunch or to indulge in the afternoon sun or indeed to enjoy the beautifully manicured borders and pots surrounding the garden.
